A follow up to Richard Cooke's Getting the Gig, this workshop looks at how a website can help you focus on your business areas as well as provide a visual brochure of your ideas and offerings.

There were five of us: Andy Harmon, Claire Schrader, Lilly, Julia and myself. Outside it was winter wonderland- snow and all. We moved the venue to my apartment due to the small numbers.

We explored the basics of internet technology, then discussed the issues facing us as small businesses trying to get a web message going. There was a lot of discussions on what is the easiest to use and what would look good and be effective. People traded tips and suggestions about their web experiences. Then several of us had a go on the various demo software  I set up, Julia demonstration her website and web software to us and we had a look at various commercial websites. I have since heard that Lilly is trying out some of the software.

I have a (big) set of PowerPoint notes is attached - it is over 100 slides so to print it out I would suggest handouts and 6 to a page.

best regards
