Developing the MD to lead a new team in the oil and gas industry

"The workshop with the new Regional Management Team was satisfying and produced a good outcome. There is more cross dialogue happening now and I am recognising the responsibilities of running a team.

This helped me to frame some concerns I am having. For example, my existing workload is just not sustainable, and I need to get more space to think. I want others to learn to operate more with each other and without me, and get teams engaged around them. Going forwards depends on whether others can show me they are capable of picking up the ball.

After two more meetings it is possible we can get to a tractable structure in which I have passed responsibilities down. I’d like you to continue to facilitate the team at first, then by the end of the year to hand this role on to our HR person."
